CASE 1 OF 4 VIOLENCE PERPETRATED BY
AN INTIMATE PARTNER

17.7% of women in Europe have experienced physical or sexual violence by a partner.

31.8^%

When psychological violence is included, that number rises to 31.8%.

Controlling where you go. Monitoring who you talk to. Isolating you from the people you love.

For most of them (14.6%),it happened more than once.

And in the last 12 months alone, 5.3% of women across the EU lived through it.

More than 1 in 5 women (20.2%) have experienced physical and/or sexual violence by someone other than a partner.

Not a stranger.
Usually someone they knew.
Someone from their circle.

Followed. Watched. Tracked.
Online and offline.

12.9^%

12.9% have experienced sexual violence since the age of 15.

3.8% have been raped — by someone other than a partner.

And most of them never reported it.

CASE 3 OF 4 SEXUAL HARASSMENT
AT WORK

1 in 3 women (30.8%) in Europe has experienced sexual harassment at work in their lifetime.

41.6^%

But for women between 18 and 29, it rises to 41.6%.

It's not always obvious. Sometimes it's a comment. A look. A joke everyone laughs at.

And most of them smiled.
Stayed quiet.
Afraid to lose the job.

VIOLENCE BY ANY PERPETRATOR

1 in 3 women (30.7%) in Europe has experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.

By anyone. A partner. A stranger. Someone they trusted.

17.2^%

17.2% have experienced sexual violence including rape.

13.9^%

And of all of them, only 13.9% reported it to the police.
Most of them never told anyone.
